Lectures and Covid-19

We will be going ahead with our lecture programme beginning on Thursday 17 September. However, there will need to be changes in the way we operate. We have consulted with St Mary's, Barnes (the venue for the first four talks), and will run our lectures along similar lines to their well-attended services.

St Mary's, Barnes is currently able to accommodate 50-60 people, socially distanced, depending on the distribution between single attenders and same-household families. Attendance will have to be strictly monitored and advance booking will be essential. Booking for each lecture will be confined to a designated period of one week during the dates. Block bookings for all four lectures will not be possible:

8-15 September
6-13 October
10-17 November
1-8 December

Applications should be made to Jane Edwards on 020 8878 3756 or email at, clearly stating your name(s) and telephone number(s). Should you subsequently find that you are unable to attend, please notify Jane accordingly. Members will have priority. We will continue to welcome visitors if numbers permit, provided that they book in advance. There will be no admittance on the night for anyone who has not booked in advance.

Please arrive for lectures in good time. On arrival, your name and contact details will be checked against a register, a copy of which will be retained by the church authorities for 21 days in compliance with GDPR guidelines. This will be necessary for NHS track and trace purposes should we later be notified of an infection.

Face masks must be worn; hand sanitisers will be available and the toilets will be accessible. Refreshments will not be served and it is unlikely that we will be able to operate our book stall.
