The John Dee of Mortlake Society was formed in 2009 following a successful Pageant and a series of four lectures held at St Mary the Virgin church, Mortlake commemorating the 400th anniversary of John Dee’s death.
The Society commissioned a plaque to commemorate John Dee which can be seen on the south wall of St Mary’s church, Mortlake. The plaque was designed and carved in Welsh slate by Emily Hoffnung and unveiled at a reception on Tuesday, 7th May 2013 by Benjamin Woolley, author of The Queen’s Conjuror.
Between 2009 and 2018 the Society hosted a series of Lectures about John Dee.
On 20 November 2018 the Society was wound up following and Extraordinary General Meeting.
