Local Libraries
Castelnau, East Sheen, and Richmond Reference libraries have a number of books on the history of the district. Some are available to borrow while others are in the reference collections. Information on all Richmond upon Thames libraries can be found on the link below.
Surrey History Centre
The Surrey History Centre is at 130 Goldsworth Road, Woking. It holds the parish records and a large collection of books and documents relevant to our area when it was part of Surrey.
The Local Studies Collection
The Local Studies Collection offers a wealth of information for Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen, including census returns, rate books, electoral registers, council minutes, maps, local newspapers and books. It is housed on the Third Floor, Old Town Hall, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond.
Northamptonshire Records Office
This houses the archives of the Spencer family. Because they were lords of the manor, these archives contain some useful material from our locality. The Northamptonshire Record Office is at Wootton Hall Park, Northampton, NN4 8BQ. Tel: 01604 762129.
