Working for Barnes Electricity in the 1930s

Working for Barnes Electricity in the 1930s

In 1930 Fred Windsor began work as a young draughtsman at the Electricity Works on Mortlake High Street. On his retirement he wrote up his memories of seven years there in remarkable detail with a dry sence of humour. Fred decribes his work at a time when electricty was first being introduced to the area but he also writes about the wider aspects of local life.
